Privacy Policy

How WizTick handles account data, shared lists, Smart AI receipts, monitoring, analytics, ads, and website information.

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Website: https://wiztick.uk/privacy-policy

This Privacy Policy explains how WizTick collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use the WizTick Android app, the WizTick website, shared grocery features, and optional Smart AI receipt scanning.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data

WizTick is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Questions, privacy requests, and account-deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].

2. Information We Collect or Process

WizTick does not intentionally ask users to provide health data, political opinions, religion, race, or a precise home address. A grocery receipt can nevertheless contain personal information that you choose to submit, such as a store, shopping time, loyalty reference, payment fragment, or purchase history. Please review your receipt before using Smart AI.

3. Optional Smart AI Receipt Scanning

Smart AI receipt scanning is optional. Before the first Smart AI scan for a signed-in account, WizTick asks you to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and to explicitly consent to AI processing and security monitoring. WizTick stores evidence of that consent in Firebase.

When you choose Smart AI, WizTick sends one or more receipt images selected by you, together with relevant shopping-session context, to Google Firebase AI Logic and Google Gemini. The purpose is to identify and match grocery products, prices, quantities, stores, discounts, receipt dates, subtotal, and total amounts.

WizTick may use AI monitoring, request metrics, logging, and abuse-prevention systems to measure request volume, token usage, latency, failures, and service security. Depending on Google’s service configuration, monitoring or security logs may include prompt, response, or receipt-related content. Google controls the retention and handling of those service logs under its applicable terms and data-processing documentation.

WizTick currently accesses Gemini through a billing-enabled Google Cloud project. Under Google’s current terms for paid Gemini API services, Google states that prompts, associated files, and responses are not used to improve Google products. Google may still process, transiently store, cache, or retain information where necessary to provide, secure, and comply with the service. See Google’s Gemini API terms.

WizTick does not sell receipt information and does not use Smart AI receipt content to personalize advertising.

4. Eco HD Local Receipt Scanning

Eco HD is the local alternative to Smart AI. Eco HD processes receipt photos on your device using local recognition models and does not send the receipt image to Gemini. General account synchronization, analytics, crash reporting, and other normal app services may still operate while you use the app.

5. How We Use Information

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Where European or UK data-protection law applies, WizTick relies on one or more of the following legal bases: performing the service you request, your consent for optional Smart AI processing and other optional features, legitimate interests in operating and securing WizTick, and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw Smart AI consent for future use by stopping use of Smart AI, contacting support, or deleting your account. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

7. Firebase, Google, and Other Service Providers

WizTick uses service providers needed to operate the app and website, which may include:

These providers process data under their own terms, privacy notices, and contractual obligations. WizTick remains responsible for choosing and configuring the services used by the app.

8. Local Storage and Duplicate-Scan Cache

WizTick stores some data locally to support offline use and faster performance. This can include settings, cached language packs, grocery data, receipt-processing state, and images you select for app features.

To avoid paying for and repeating an identical Smart AI request, WizTick may keep a private local fingerprint and parsed result for a recent successful receipt scan for up to approximately 48 hours. This duplicate-result cache is stored on your device and is designed not to store an additional copy of the original receipt image.

9. Shared Lists and WizIntel Circles

People you invite to a shared list or WizIntel Circle can see information that the feature is designed to share, such as grocery items, recent prices, stores, quantities, update dates, and member names. Members cannot edit another member’s private prices, amounts, or personal list unless the app explicitly provides that permission. Share invite links only with people you trust and avoid entering sensitive information as grocery-item names.

10. Advertising

WizTick may use Google AdMob for banner or rewarded ads. Advertising identifiers, approximate location, device information, and ad interaction data may be processed by Google according to Google’s policies. Smart AI receipt images and extracted grocery details are not intentionally supplied to AdMob for advertising personalization.

11. Website Data

The WizTick website uses Google Analytics with IP anonymization settings, aggregate page counters, and Cloudflare hosting. If you submit a comment, feedback form, application, or waitlist form, the information you provide is processed for that purpose. Public comments may be visible to other visitors.

12. Data Sharing

WizTick does not sell personal data. Information is shared only with invited members as part of user-selected collaboration features, with service providers needed to operate WizTick, when you direct us to share it, or when disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

13. Retention

14. Security and International Processing

WizTick uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access and encrypted network transmission where supported. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Google, Firebase, Cloudflare, and other providers may process information in countries outside your own, subject to their contractual and legal transfer mechanisms.

15. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can choose Eco HD instead of Smart AI, stop using Smart AI, correct or delete app information where supported, leave shared lists or circles, change app settings, and request account deletion. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority.

16. Account Deletion

You can request account deletion from the Profile section where available or through https://wiztick.uk/delete-account.html. After verifying the request, WizTick will delete or anonymize personal data associated with the account, except information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, dispute, or shared-collaboration reasons. Data belonging to other circle or list members will not be deleted merely because one member leaves.

17. Children

WizTick is a general household-shopping service and is not designed specifically for children under 13. If WizTick learns that a child’s personal data was collected without required permission, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.

18. Changes to This Policy

WizTick may update this policy when features, providers, laws, or data practices change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Where required, WizTick will request new consent before using data for a materially different purpose.

19. Contact

For privacy questions, consent withdrawal, access requests, or deletion requests, contact [email protected].
