The handwritten notes my parents kept losing
WizTick did not start as a feature list. It started with a small, repeated family frustration: a handwritten grocery note left on a table, folded into the wrong pocket, or simply lost before anyone reached the supermarket.
My mother would plan a meal in her head, already thinking about what she wanted to cook that day. Then one important ingredient would be missing. The meal had to wait, the mood changed, and something that should have been simple became stressful.
My father would then have to go back out again. That meant losing time he wanted to spend fixing things around the house, resting, or simply having a quiet moment. Sometimes the nearest supermarket was not the cheapest one, but it was the fastest option, so the family paid more just to get the missing groceries quickly.
That is the real reason this page exists. A grocery list app for elderly parents should not feel like technology for the sake of technology. It should protect small daily routines, reduce unnecessary trips, and help families avoid the tiny arguments that start when a simple shopping note disappears.
